Treat these knives as you would treat a cast iron skillet. Do not leave them wet or covered in the leavings of whatever you used them for. Oiling them is good, such as mineral oil. These knives are made of high carbon steels, not stainless steel. They will often develop a patina on them from consistent use which is perfectly normal, and even provides character and a "footprint" of the use of your knife.
Also keep in mind that I am making these tools by hand in my garage without the aid of computers or expensive computer aided machines that eliminate imperfections, so if you happen to notice any of these tiny imperfections from time to time, please keep that in mind. You are supporting a one man, all by hand operation and I thank you for it.
